Nvidia has published a mysterious post on Twitter teasing an “Ultimate Countdown” to something big. The tweet was posted by Nvidia’s GeForce handle (@NVIDIAGeForce), which confirms it is related to the consumer graphics card segment. It includes an 8-second video of a supernova exploding, which signifies that Nvidia is teasing something significant (probably upcoming Ampere graphics cards). The company has also confirmed a special GeForce event for Sept 1, 2020.
Nvidia updated the header photo as well on its Nvidia GeForce account. It contains an exploding supernova with the hashtag “#ULTIMATECOUNTDOWN”, followed by the words “21 Days, 21 Years”.
Nvidia has also added a countdown timer to its website and announced a GeForce Event for Sept 1, 2020. The event will probably be a per-recorded one and likely announce Nvidia GeForce Ampere graphics cards.
NVIDIA will broadcast a GeForce Special Event, featuring an address by founder and CEO Jensen Huang, on Sept. 1, at 9 a.m. Pacific time.
