ASUS has introduced a few custom models for AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 graphics cards. The announcement came through a press release a day after AMD launched its Radeon RX 6000 Series of graphics cards. These cards will be available in ROG Strix and TUF variants, including a liquid-cooled model.
ASUS ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6800 XT – Liquid Cooled Big Navi
The ASUS ROG Strix LC RX 6800 XT is a top-end model of the graphics card. It features a 240mm radiator with two 120mm fans for liquid cooling the card along with a single-fan blower heatsink. A large cold plate is used for cooling the GPU and memory. Its hoses are 600mm long for facilitating flexible installation. The included fans are designed for high airflow and optimum static pressure to ensure maximum cooling. There are two extra FanConnect II headers on the graphics card. You can connect a pair of system fans to these fan connectors so that they ramp up with an increase in GPU or CPU temperature.
Design-wise, the ASUS ROG Strix LC RX 6800 XT looks bold and vibrant. It has plenty of RGB illumination on the GPU shroud. ASUS has not released the clocks of the card. Considering that the liquid-cooled VEGA 64 GPUs utilized a 120mm radiator, it seems the ROG Strix LC Radeon RX 6800 XT will be pushed to the extreme with its 240mm radiator.
ASUS ROG Strix RX 6800
ASUS ROG Strix RX 6800 is a premium variant of the 60CU graphics card. It is an air-cooled graphics card that features a new cooler design. The card visibly looks different from the last generation of ROG Strix cards. It has a massive 2.9-slot heatsink that utilizes heat pipes and a base plate for cooling the GPU. There are three fans for maximizing airflow and minimizing noise. The center fan rotates in the counter direction to reduce turbulence.
ASUS ROG Strix RX 6800’s massive heatsink indicates the card will be overclocked, provided there is room available on the Navi 2X GPU. For RGB fanatics, there is an RGB LED array on the edge of the card for illumination.
ASUS TUF Gaming RX 6800 XT and RX 6800
ASUS is going to release TUF variants of Radeon RX 6800 XT and Radeon RX 6800 for buyers who prefer more economical offerings. They both will use a 2.9-slot heatsink and three fans for cooling. The shroud and the backplate of the cards are in a neutral color scheme with an industrial design. ASUS will be using the same design for RX 6800 XT and RX 6800. The RGB lighting on the ASUS TUF Gaming RX 6800 XT and 6800 is minimal but still present.
ASUS did not provide any details on the pricing or availability of the graphics cards. We at PCPepper expect them to become available sometime in December
