Logitech has announced two new keyboards in its gamer-centric Logitech G lineup. These new keyboards include the Logitech G915 LIGHTSPEED and the Logitech G815 LIGHTSYNC. The main feature of these keyboards is that they both use Logitech’s new low-profile GL switches. Gamers who prefer low profile keyboards will find the new offerings from Logitech to their liking. They also feature LIGHTSYNC RGB lighting, because why not!
Logitech G915 LIGHTSPEED and G815 LIGHTSYNC Keyboards
The new G915 LIGHTSPEED and G815 LIGHTSYNC keyboards from Logitech have the same design, profile, and features. The keyboards are ultra-thin with a height of 22mm. They both have five programmable G keys and dedicated media controls. You can adjust the audio using the volume wheel, which is a unique hallmark of these keyboards. Their aluminum-alloy top gives them a premium finish. (Make sure your PC is grounded properly!)
The main difference between them is that the G915 is a wireless keyboard that uses Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED technology. It will connect to your PC via a USB adapter. It also has Bluetooth capability and can be connected to devices like smartphones. The rated battery life of the Logitech G915 keyboard is 30 hours at full brightness. It requires three hours to recharge fully. You can use it while it is charging.
The G815 is wired and requires a USB cable for connection. Additionally, it has a USB 2.0 passthrough port for connecting other devices. The rest of its features are the same as the G915 keyboard. You have the freedom of customizing RGB lighting on a per-key basis with Logitech’s LIGHTSYNC technology. The LEDs support up to 16.8 million colors for creating the perfect theme for your computer’s RGB devices.
Logitech New GL Switches
There are three types of Logitech’s new GL Switches – clicky, linear and tactile. The Logitech GL Linear switch has the smoothest keystroke while the GL Clicky has the maximum feedback. The GL Tactile lies in between the two and has moderate feedback with a gentle bump.
The Logitech G915 LIGHTSPEED and G815 LIGHTSYNC keyboards are expected to hit store shelves pretty soon. Logitech G915 LIGHTSPEED wireless keyboard will cost $249.99 while the G815 LIGHTSYNC wired keyboard carries a price tag of $199.99. In a few markets, the Logitech G915 will be branded as the G913, and the G815 will be sold as the G813. Also, checkout GSkills’ new KM360 keyboard with Cherry MX Red Switches.
